Peel the garlic and slice the chilli into rings.

Put the garlic and chilli in the oil and heat on very low heat (confit) for 15 minutes until the garlic is soft.
Tip: If the oil is too hot, the garlic will burn and become bitter. The goal is softening, not frying.
