- What coffee should I use?
- The fruity notes of light roast coffees suit the orange better than dark, bitter roasts.
Orange & coffee smoothie
This drink was inspired by 'Bumblebee' coffee, where orange juice and coffee are layered. Here, however, we blend them together with a creamy, almond base. The bitterness of the coffee and the acidity of the orange work surprisingly well together, creating a refreshing and invigorating effect.

Instructions
1
✓
Brew the coffee and cool it completely (in an ice bath, or place it in the freezer for 10 minutes).
Tip: If you put hot coffee into the blender, it will melt the ice, and you'll get a watery, tepid soup instead of a smoothie.
2
✓
Place the banana, almond milk, cold coffee, orange juice, and honey into the blender.
Tip: The flavour of almond milk goes brilliantly with coffee, but it works with any milk.
3
✓
Toss in the ice and blend until creamy.
Tip: Due to the acidity of the coffee and orange, don't let it sit; drink it immediately.
4
✓
Sprinkle grated orange zest on top when serving.
Tip: The essential oils (limonene) in the zest add the finishing touch.
