- Why does the waffle fall off the skewer?
- It was probably too fresh and soft, or you cut it too thin. Let it cool completely so its structure firms up and becomes more stable.
- The banana is browning, what should I do?
- Drizzle a few drops of lemon juice on it. The acid prevents oxidation (browning).
- What other fruit can I use?
- Anything not too juicy and with firm flesh: pineapple, blueberries, kiwi are perfect.

Instructions
Mix the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Even distribution of baking powder is key, otherwise one half of the waffle will be flat and the other humped.
In another vessel, beat the eggs, mix in the milk, the melted (but not hot!) butter, and the vanilla. Pour the liquid into the dry mixture.
Mix the batter until smooth, then let it rest for 10 minutes. During this time, the flour granules absorb moisture, so the batter thickens.
Cook the waffles in the hot, buttered iron until golden brown. Remove them and let them cool completely on a wire rack. If you cut them warm, they will squash and fall apart!
Prepare the fruits: wash them, hull the strawberries, slice the banana. Cut the cooled waffles into approx. 3x3 cm cubes.
Thread the waffle cubes and fruits onto the skewer alternately. Serve immediately.
